Convergence 25

Quarter Life Crisis

May 3-5, 2019

BOSTON, Massachusetts

Venue: Brighton Music Hall
Brighton Music Hall
158 Brighton Ave, Allston, MA 02134

Phone: (617) 779-0140 - Website

Closest Subway: Green Line B Train: Harvard Ave stop

Closest Bus: Route 66: Harvard Ave @ Brighton Ave stop

Maybe we're just a little bit biased, but we think it is the best medium-sized music venue in the New England area. Host to hundreds of amazing alternative and indie bands a year, from cult acts like Black Moth Super Rainbow and St. Etienne to familiar industrial fare like 3Teeth, Grendel and Front 242, BMH is also the home of Corrosion, a large monthly goth night. BMH will house all three "official" nights of Convergence, as well as our Fashion Show and some prime vending spots.

Hotel to/from Brighton Music Hall
The Route 66 bus runs between Coolidge Corner and Brighton Music Hall. The Coolidge Corner bus stop is 3 blocks (0.2 miles) from the Holiday Inn. It's a quick 5 stops to your Harvard Ave @ Brighton Ave. It is an almost negligably quick cab/rideshare ride at night, and is only a half-hour walk (1.0 mile)!

Venue: Middle East Downstairs

Closest Subway: Red Line Train: Central Square stop

Closest Buses: Route 1, 47, 64, 70, 70A, 83, 91: Central Square stop

The Middle East owns several venues in Central Square Cambridge. They host a variety of acts and club nights ranging from the OVERDRIVE, XMortis, and HEROES club nights to goth, punk, indie, noise, metal, etc. shows. They also have a space for bellydancing and a kickass restaurant to boot.

Hotel to/from Middle East Downstairs
Probably the fastest option is to take the Green Line C train outside the hotel inbound 3 stops to Saint Marys Street. Exit the train and continue walking 2 blocks to Park Drive. Turn left on Park Drive and catch the Route 47 bus going continuing down Park Drive. This bus will take you directly to Central Square. Alternately, you can stay on the subway. Take it to Park Street. Once you get off, look for the Red Line train going outbound to Alewife Station. Take the Red Line 3 stops to Central Square.

Venue: Wonder Bar
Wonder Bar
186 Harvard Ave, Allston, MA 02134

Phone: (617) 351-2665 - Website

Closest Subway: Green Line B Train: Harvard Ave stop

Closest Bus: Route 66: Harvard Ave @ Commonwealth Ave stop

Wonder Bar is mostly a college and hip hop destination, but it plays host to Ceremony and does host some goth/industrial shows on occasion. The venue is spacious. They even sport a small selection of single malt whiskies.

Hotel to/from Wonder Bar
Wonder Bar is down the street from Brighton Music Hall. The directions will be the same as above for Brighton Music Hall, but instead of going 3 stops, you'll only take it 2 stops. Once off the bus, cross Commonwealth Ave and the train tracks. The club is a few doors down on the right past the McDonald's. To return, the bus stop is across the street from Wonder Bar toward Commonwealth Ave.

Venue: Machine
1254 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02215

Phone: (617) 536-1950 - Website

Closest Subway: Green Line B/C/D Train: Kenmore stop

Machine is one of Boston's iconic gay clubs. It hosts a variety of gay/goth/industrial/fetish dance nights, drag shows, concerts, karaoke, and more. Come experience the legend before it dies by gentrification within the year. The entire block is being turned into housing.

Hotel to/from Machine
Take the Green Line C train outside the hotel inbound 4 stops to Kenmore. Head west on Commonwealth Avenue toward Hotel Buckminster. Turn left before the hotel onto Brookline Avenue. Cross the bridge of the highway. 2 streets up on the right is Jersey Street. Turn right. Walk 2 more streets and turn left on Boylston street. Machine is on the right 2 blocks down right before the gas station with green awnings. There isn't a sign. Come through the black door on the left. If you are a baseball fan (or hate the Red Sox), this route takes you right next to Fenway Park. Give praise or curse as you walk by. The walk is about 5-7 minutes.
